The grunge singer, who enrolled in the San Francisco Art Institute in California during her youth, has been indulging in her love of drawing and painting for years and she is now set to open up her portfolio to the public.
Mentoring Courtney Love: David LaChapelle & Courtney Love will open at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum in Connecticut next week, with a special reception held April 12.

Björk se ha conjugado con el artista sirio Omar Souleyman. Islandia y Siria unidas musicalmente, resultado, una conjugación musical fabulosa, que te atrapa desde el primer segundo.... queremos más!!!

La islandesa descubrió al músico sirio en 2009, por casualidad, mientras visionaba videos en Youtube; desde el primer momento quedó prendada de su arte y, por lo mismo, se propuso trabajar algún día con él. Finalmente, una y otro se conocieron y.... aqui teneis el resultado.



Omar Souleyman es un artista sirio cuyo sonido bebe de diversos estilos musicales de tradición árabe, aunque también se suele servir de sintetizadores, cajas de ritmos y demás recursos acostumbrados en la creación de música electrónica.

Aunque no es su mejor disco, según los "expertos", a mi me siguen gustando y me siguen poniendo lo pelos de punta, este post-rock lleno de ruido, esas canciones que nunca acaban, que no tienen un estribillo ni una melodia central...tengo que reconocerlo que me gusta...
Pese a no ser lo mejor de ellos YO si que lo estoy disfrutando. Quizás no soprendan tanto pero para mi mantienen el nivel.

Chan Marshall nuevamente, después de una "pausa" de 6 años. Un nuevo larga duración titulado SUN. No está nada mal un poco de SUN para iniciar el otoño 2012.

A veces los artistas / bandas están con mucha presion de lanzar nuevos discos, hacer giras, ser siempre creativos y activos... pero eso no puede ser...eres tú siempre activo y creativo 100%??

Yo, personalmente, todavía estoy disfrutando ese álbum anterior "The Greatest" y claro que quiero mas pero sin estresssss, parece que tenemos que consumir un disco por semana o más...

Este SUN son nuevamente canciones folk/pop, algún toque electrónico, con esa voz que te arrastra de Chan Marshall.

Canciones de folk que ahora, en algunos casos, suenan más pesadas (Always on my own) o sofisticadas (Human being), por obra y gracias de las programaciones y las pinceladas de sintetizadores. Canciones de pop y rock sutil hechas con ese espíritu minimalista que caracteriza a Marshall (Cherokee, 3,6,9). Iggy Pop la acompaña en el rock primitivo de Nothin’ but time, pero lo mejor del disco es lo que hay antes y después de ese tema, un itinerario musical que no es fácil ni lineal, que a veces despista, pero que termina atrapando al oyente predispuesto.

Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - Mature Themes

Todos los días descubrimos cosas nuevas, y eso que este Ariel Pink lleva ya tiempo haciendo música. En este momento lo consideran el bicho raro del panorama pop-rock actual.

Grabó el disco "Ku Klux Glam’, conjuntamente con el más excéntrico si cabe R. Stevie Moore, con sesenta y un cortes entre melodías lo-fi y la pura cacofonía, fue lanzado hace tan solo unos meses.

Tenemos suerte y cuando se junta a los Haunted Graffiti su música es más digerible, una mezcla de canciones pop con aires L.A. años sesenta, un toque glam, y con detalles a lo Elvis Costelo. Este disco Mature Themes es la continuación del "Before Today", exitoso según algunos pero que yo no conocía. Según dicen este es el disco más escuchable de su carrera hasta ahora, iniciada en 2002.

Bon Iver - Lisboa 24-Julio-2012

La verdad es que ultimamente tengo muy abandonado este blog de música pero eso no significa que tenga abandonada la música...

El pasado martes 24 de Julio de 2012 fuimos al concierto de BON IVER en Lisboa, la primera vez que Justin Vernon y sus secuaces pasan por tierras lusas.

Y por si habia alguna duda antes de este concierto nos enteramos de que hay una nueva fecha para el 26 de Octubre.

Fue una muy grata sorpresa, ver como la musica de Bon Iver, tan intensa y emocionante en el disco en directo es una explosion de energia, música, ruido, luces, distorsiones, ... mucha mucha potencia, dos baterias a todo ritmo, sentias vibrar todo .. hasta el móvil :)

Hacemos un giro musical, momentáneo, no os asustéis.... pero me gusta Ian Bostridge. Y escuchando el disco Great Haendel de 2007 me he encontrado con esta sección de la pieza musical Acis & Galatea de Haendel.

El disco es un recital en inglés e italiano de arias de las óperas y oratorios de Handel. Muchas son muy conocidas, pero Bostridge ha incluido otras arias que originalmente fueron pensadas para castrati.
